Photographer William Gedney took amazingly sensitive, truthful and at times sombre photos of poor neighborhoods, mostly around the South and Kentucky in the 1960's and 70's.
He also captured youth, particularly beautiful yet hardy girls, filthy to the bone, and lads trying desperately to be men.
William's photographs were the inspiration for J.W.Anderson's last SS11 collection, so much so that he actually printed William's photograph's on silk and the sewed the images onto t-shirts. Our lovely Celestine has ordered one. I ordered the doily tie dye long sleeve crop top.
